Job SummaryThe Produce Department Supervisor is a critical role at Whole Foods Market - Midtown East (57th Street), responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the produce department. This includes supervising and delegating tasks to team members, maintaining a clean and well-stocked department, and ensuring exceptional customer service.Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and Delegate Tasks: Supervise and delegate tasks to produce team members, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Department Maintenance: Maintain a clean and well-stocked department, including keeping all cases and shelves clean and properly rotated.
• Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service by responding promptly to customer needs and questions, and maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor.
• Team Training and Development: Train and develop team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team, and minimizes turnover.
• Performance Evaluations: Conduct timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and coaching to team members.Requirements
• 12+ months retail experience.
• Extensive knowledge of produce team procedures and policies.
• Strong demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
• Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
• Product knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
• Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.Working Conditions
• Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Standing/Walking: In an 8-hour work day, stand/walk for 6-8 hours.
• Hand Use: Single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work Motions: Bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure: Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
