Supervisor will provide leadership, oversight, quality performance,
and work scheduling for all metering technicians. The Metering
Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and repair of all
equipment, meters, data acquisition, and AMR components associated
with the customer facilities. The Metering Supervisor reports to
the Reliability and Maintenance Manager. This is a full-time,
on-site, exempt position located in Boston, MA.Responsibilities
- Oversees direct reports to ensure compliance with company
operating and safety procedures, able to use and instruct employees
to use safety equipment necessary to perform the job in a safe and
timely manner.
- Maintains safe working conditions and identifies and corrects
or reports on unsafe conditions in work areas.
- Prepares estimates, PARs, and technical engineering requests
(ESRs) for metering installations and upgrades.
- Plans, schedules, and implements daily metering activities and
sets priorities in scheduling based on customer needs.
- Provides on-the-job training for all employees in several areas
including but not limited to safety and job development.
- Communicates timely and relevant information to management,
direct reports and others as situations necessitate.
- Reviews metering data reports, identifies problem areas and
suggests or develops problem solutions for identified metering
issues.
- Interfaces with employees in other departments, customers,
other utilities, government agency representatives and the
public.
- Assures that proper maintenance is being completed on all
assigned customer services, non-customer piping systems, and
equipment located on department trucks for P6 service work.
- Possesses demonstrated leadership ability with department
employees of various knowledge levels.
- Understands abilities, limitations and recognizes individual
differences in people for the purpose of motivating them to perform
and complete all assigned work in a timely manner.
- Maintains a cost-effective inventory control for the
department.
- Provides logs, writes procedures, writes reports and updates
procedures and reports as needed and forwards all requests to
management for review.
- Demonstrates leadership with department employees of various
knowledge levels.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of employee
timesheets.
- Ensures housekeeping duties are assigned.
- Performs any related duties as assigned.Qualifications and
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the field working with I&C and/or
metering systems.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.Physical
Requirements
- Must submit to a company provided pre-employment physical and
drug screening.
- Standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, pushing,
pulling, walking on uneven surfaces, and grating, working from
elevated platforms, scaffolding or ladders, required to lift up to
and including 50 pounds.
- Must qualify to wear a respirator.
- Exposed to temperature extremes, high noise level areas, high
pressure steam lines, rotating equipment, and dusty/dirty
environment.
- Required to wear PPE such as a hard hat, safety glasses, safety
shoes, hearing protection.
