Job Description:

Department/Unit: Emergency Department Work Shift: Night The Senior Emergency Department Clinical Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. The Senior Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent and compassionate care. Hourly Range: $36.73 - $60.93 Key Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care rendered, applying sound nursing judgment
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC
  • 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department
  • Ability to improve job performance through continuing education
