POSITION:--- Responsibilities include leadership for the following
units: Public Relations, Marketing, Audiovisual, Outreach, and
Intergovernmental Relations.--- Direct Management of Public
Relations, Intergovernmental Affairs, and Administration for the
Communication and Marketing teams.--- Budgetary Responsibility for
Communication and Marketing teams.--- Handles an enhanced
governmental responsibility for identifying potential funding
resources and ensuring that the CEO is aware of the environmental
changes in the area.--- Handles all other duties as assigned by the
Chief Executive Officer.Public Relations / Media Relations:The
Public Relations advances the Public Relations/Media Relations
effort to timely and consistently promote health awareness and
publicize NYC Health+ Hospital's clinical and programmatic
achievements to the target stakeholders. The program works to
maintain high visibility and partnerships with community
stakeholders. Additionally, the program engages with the diversity
and growth of the community ensuring that Lincoln is the epicenter
for addressing healthcare needs within the Mott Haven, Melrose, and
its other catchment communities. As a part of the Public Relations
strategy in collaboration with the central office, the program is
moving towards the development of the social media engagement
platform, along with an intensive working relationship with all of
the local community papers. A weekly column will be prepared for
the Chief Executive Officer highlighting the health care services
along with the extensive schedule of days and hours provided for
the benefit of the community.Major Duties:
- Building a closer and working relationship with community
partners, institutions, nonprofits, and businesses to promote and
advance the message of quality healthcare services within the
area.
- Establishing a strong supportive communication methodology for
internal use with all departments to ensure that their
communication materials and events adhere to the policies and
procedures of the NYC Health + Hospitals.
- Identify opportunities for public relations events and
activities that support the mission and vision of the
administration.
- Explores potential growth opportunities for engagement.
- Works closely with Public Relations Senior Associate Director
to ensure an ongoing flow of information is maintained between the
administration and the central office.Intergovernmental
Relations:The Intergovernmental Relations team promotes ongoing
communication with the administration, community, stakeholders,
elected officials, and community at large. This team ensures that
vital information is provided accurately and quickly to all of the
pertinent parties. The unit works closely with VIPs, and senior
leaders to advance and promote the high quality of care being
performed at the facility.Major Duties:
- Maintains a healthy communication with the elected officials,
community stakeholders, businesses, nonprofits and other
institutions serving the community.
- Implements and executes ongoing opportunities to showcase the
quality of services at the facility.
- Strategizes on activities and events that will promote the
administration's work within the transforming community.
- Collaborates with department heads on planning, designing and
implementing activities that will promote a healthy and uplifting
working environment.
- In collaboration with Assistant Director of Intergovernmental
Relations designed opportunity to expand upon our connection with
the larger community.
- Works on removing barriers that may stigmatize and limit the
healthy interaction with elected officials.
- Building a healthy relationship with the intergovernmental
office at the central office to work on the NYS and Federal level
with elected officials, appointees, and funding sources.Marketing
Relations:The Marketing Relations team develops and implements
marketing plans that advance NYC Health+ Hospitals agenda and
promote healthcare services with an emphasis on building physician
and consumer referrals for patient care services and serves as the
focal point for maintaining ongoing positive internal relationships
with clinical and administrative departments. Collaborates with
Public Relations and Intergovernmental teams to ensure the
messaging both within and without the facility is always relevant
to the health care services being provided within the
facility.Major Duties:
- In Collaboration with the Assistant Director manages the
planning process and development of yearly marketing plans with
measured objectives that support business goals and strategic
objectives.
- Develops, implements, and executes ongoing internal marketing
processes including communication with clinical and administrative
departments and staff.
- Consult with marketing experts to ensure that the messaging is
on point and a reasonable experience.
- Works closely with the designer and the administrative staff
within the marketing department to maintain a balanced
workload.Outreach Team:The Outreach team is primarily focused on
engagement of the community at large. To effectively meet the needs
of engagement, a comprehensive strategic plan has been designed
that allows for the team to work closely with community
stakeholders and gain insight into the types of non-emergency
patients who will seek primary care services at Lincoln. With the
establishment of a strong working relationship with the health
plans, the Outreach team has enhanced its engagement with the
community. As a key component of an extension of the clinical
departments, the Outreach team engages daily with the members of
the community on all levels. The teamwork also lends external
support to internal departments through its community
activities.Major Duties:
- Designed a strategic plan for the active engagement and
enhancement of working interaction within the community boards in
the catchment area of the facility.
- Integrated a strategic plan to develop a deeper engagement with
other agencies serving the community such as: the NYC Public
Libraries, Department of Education Pre-k- 3rd grade, Settlement
Houses within the area, NYCHA residents, and the businesses, major
nonprofits in the area, the DHCR developments, and the taxi-base
and consulate initiatives that have been ongoing for several
years.
- Creation of an engagement model for the churches, both the
larger established ones and the storefront ministries, temples, to
meet the diversity that is emerging within the community.
- Consistently seeks to bridge the gap between the boundary lines
of the area's doses to the facility and those less than one mile
away to participate in the program and services offered.
- Established a musical concert series to further the Outreach
team efforts to engage the community and alert them to the services
and programs offered at the facility.Audiovisual Conference
CenterThe AV Conference Center is an integral component of the
engagement strategy set forth in the Public Relations, Marketing,
Outreach, and Intergovernmental Relations team. As the only
conference center within the six primary zip codes of the facility,
it serves as the cornerstone for reaching the nonprofits,
businesses, and the elected officials. Initially, offered as a free
service to the community, it was frequently overbooked. The AV team
is essential to the scheduling and booking of meetings both for the
departments within the facility and the community nonprofits. The
exhibition space along with high skilled curator, and photographer
enhances the viability of the space making it pivotal to showcasing
the rich in-house talents.Minimum Qualifications1. Master's degree
from an accredited college or university in Hospital or Health Care
Administration, Public Health or a related discipline and five (5)
years of high-level responsible experience in Hospital, Business,
or Public Administration or a Health Care Administrator in a
position of direct responsibility for operations of a major part or
all of a health care setting, including substantial exposure in
meeting community health needs; or2. Bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1"
above; and six (6) years of high-level experience in areas as
